Spotlight: Ronald W. Laitinen

Personal:
Ron has a lovely wife, Marilynn, and two grown sons. Ron was born and raised in the UP. Ron spent time in the military and was stationed in Arizona. Ron is retired from the Insurance business and spends as much time as he can on the water.

Club Activities:
Ron was a charter member and one of the founders of CUPSFA back in 1989. Ron has served in many capacities with the club including President (10 years) and Board member. Ron has organized and led club efforts for our annual July Fish Boil (15 years) and Club Fish Fry (10 years). Ron has also represented our club on the Lake Superior Advisory Committee (12 years) and the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (10 years). Ron's dedication and passion for CUPSFA is an inspiration for the rest of us.

Fishing Interests:
Ron has a variety of fishing interests, but his favorite fish seems to be the UP Steelhead. Ron spends most of the spring fishing the Huron River near Skanee and the fall fishing the Two Hearted River north of Newberry.
